About Us

Theater Echo is one of Japan’s foremost stage and voice talent management organizations. Echo has been contributing to stagecraft in Japan since 1954. Its productions of original dramas and localized foreign plays—from works by Shakespeare and Molière to Neal Simon, Noel Coward and Tom Stoppard—have been honored with numerous prizes, including the Japan Magazine Publishers Association’s Golden Arrow Prize and the Stage Festival Grand Prize, awarded by Japan’s Agency for Cultural Affairs. Wherever there are voice talent, you’ll find talent from Theater Echo—in radio, television, home entertainment and theatrical voiceover work, in Japanese anime and foreign feature films and series programming.
Founded in 1988 as a dubbing production company, Studio Echo can draw on Theatre Echo’s roster of over 100 stage and dubbing actors. This deep pool of talent delivers voice prints and performances for every character and facet of human experience. With decades of experience casting plays and localized feature films, Studio Echo can effectively deploy talent to deliver compelling localized versions.
To ensure a sustainable pipeline of superior talent, Echo Academy trains aspiring stage and voiceover actors, with a pathway for promising students to gain experience in dubbing at Studio Echo. Our headquarters includes a fully equipped theater and complete rehearsal and training facilities for stage and voice talent.
Over decades of operation, Theater Echo has also built deep ties with theater companies and talent management organizations throughout Japan, enabling it to draw on the best talent in the nation. We also have extensive experience guiding celebrity and star talent in dubbing roles.
